Antalet VM-platser

Hej,
jag har fått svar från Philip Nelkon på Mattel på vad som gäller om
antal platser på ett VM och om eventuell avgift för att delta. Det
gäller alltså att vi preparerar vår blivande VM-kandidat så att han/hon
lyckas så bra som möjligt =).

"At your first WSC you are only allowed one player then the following
rules come into effect :-

WORLD SCRABBLE ® CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

"A" country = 6 or more representatives 
"B" country = 3-5 representatives 
"C" country = 1 or 2 representatives 

Any "A" country that has at least 1/2 of its players in the top 25%, and
no more than one player in the bottom 25%,  gets an extra player for the
next Championship.

Any "B" country which has 3 players in the top 33%, and no player in the
bottom 25%, gets an extra player for the next Championship.

Any "C" country with all their players in the top 50% gets an extra
player for the next Championship.

There is not usually an entry fee but if I cannot raise sufficient funds
it may be necessary to charge one this year. Hotels in London start at
about £50 per day minimum. If we hold the event in a hotel you are not
obliged to stay there, the venue would be at least a 3 star hotel -
rates for these are normally £100 upwards per night.
